Smart Telecom gets 4G license, to launch from Shravan 15

After Ntc, Ncell 4G license, Smart telecom has also got the 4G license. Nepal Telecom Authority, the regulator has decided to award the 4G license through technology neutrality. So, Smart telecom has become the third operator to get approval for 4G license. Let’s find out all information about Smart Telecom 4G.

Recently we posted a news regarding Smart Telecom’s expansion of their network and plan for 4G. Smart had also applied for 4G license when NTA took decision for the 4G through technology neutrality.

As Smart cleared all the dues including license fees and up-gradation is underway, NTA provides green signal for the Smart cell’s 4G network. Smart Telecom is currently upgrading their sites tower for 4G and the data center is also compatible with 4G.

Smart cell 4G coverage and launch date.

According the smart’s plan, their 4G network will reach to major cities including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal. The plan has it that the smart cell 4G network will launch from Shravan 15 ( July 30, 2017). As known, Smart cell’s 4G will gradually expand to other major cities.

The 4G license of smart cell is also with technology neutrality in 1800 MHz band. It is the same with Ntc and Ncell. So, the operating frequency of Smart cell 4G is also 1800 MHz.

Smart Telecom has started it service since 2008 in remote areas. After getting the unified license in 2013, the company is now extending its GSM service to whole of Nepal. According to latest report, there are around 15 lakh (15,00,000) customers with smart telecom. They sell their service as Smart cell which is the brand name of their GSM service.
