Nepal Telecom has started upgrading the 3G service in Pokhara and the vicinity. After the recent completion of such up-gradation in various parts of the country (like Bharatpur, Hetauda, Kavre, Dhading, Ilam), Ntc is doing such 3G upgrade work in beautiful lake city: Pokhara.

The ZTE 3G towers are known to be replaced by Huawei one, which has better coverage and data speed (up to 7.2 Mbps). As the current up-gradation will finish within this week, NT plans to extend 3G in other parts like Syangja, Tanahau.

As known from the customers, the previous 3G service was not that fast and problematic with some newer smartphones. But as new 3G supports all smartphones, Subscribers will be able to surf fast internet with speeds up to 7.2 Mbps.

Apart from Fast internet access, 3G provides you additional service of Video call at Rs 2 per minute and MMS at Rs 1.5 per one MMS (file size 200 KB).

3G service has more services than 2G.

The services with 3G are:

  • Fast speed data service
  • Video call service
  • Multimedia service (MMS)

Nepal Telecom 3G project

Nepal Telecom upgrades their network as a part of their multimillion-dollar project called 10 Million GSM/UMTS line project. For which, Huawei is the equipment service provider for the whole of Nepal. They believe the faster internet speed will help the customers to have better internet experience and new services as put above.

After the completion of this project, the higher speed mobile network (3G) will reach to more areas of Nepal. The 3G will reach to all of the most data demanded cities in the country. Most of the people are also waiting eagerly for the arrival of 3G in their place.

If you are from Pokhara, do mention if you are getting 3G on your phone or not. Similarly, you can check your internet speed and send us the snapshots.
