Nepal Police app now allows citizens to file a complaint on smartphones online. The digital service facilitates people to report crimes or any issues to the security agency without physically being present and having to fill out papers.

Nepal Police launched a ‘Citizen Assistance and Grievance Management’ service on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. On the occasion, Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki shared that the objective behind launching the system is to provide citizens with easier access to the police’s services using electronic means.

He added that citizens can use the online system to file complaints at their convenience from home.

PS: Citizens can file complaints addressing the place of their living or the concerned district or local police office where the incident took place.

Benefits of online Police complaints

As frauds/scams, cybersecurity issues, and many others (no need to be online only) are rampant in our society, starting an online police complaint service is a great step for making the police friendly to citizens. This will not only enable people to access justice but also help to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the complaint system.

You need to download Nepal Police App in either Android or iOS to file the complaints online.

Patience is required while signing up for the Nepal Police app

I tried to check the app myself for this post. To my bemusement, the app sends a verification code to my email, but it took very long to arrive, and by the time I got it, the time had expired, and I needed another OTP. It worked after two attempts.

You may also want to check your spam folder to see if there’s the code from the app for the sign-up process.

You can file your complaints on the app under different categories, such as accidents, domestic violence, financial fraud, theft, etc.
