Nepal Telecom has launched 4G service in Pathibhara Temple, a famous pilgrimage site in Taplejung district. The service was launched from yesterday (Baishak 21, 2083). The new tower will serve Pathibhara temple premises and vicinity areas.
Pathibhara Temple is located at an altitude of 3794 meter from sea level, which is geographically a remote location site. The site covers 4 local bodies; Phungling Nagarpalika, Phaktanglung, Sirijangha, and Pathibhara Yangbaruk Gaun Palikas. People residing in the areas will be benefitted directly along with pilgrims and also support the tourism sector.
Now People there can easily make a contact with their families, and share photos, videos in real time. Previously, the rural area was missing such connectivity, which will now be connected to IT mainstream and support education, health and basic requirements of their daily life, including digital payment.
The site being one of the most difficult areas of the country, has steep mountain path, limited road access, and unpredictable weather. It was also difficult for the operator to install base station at such remote location.
