The rumors about the affordable variant of Samsung Galaxy S10 and Note 10 were around us for weeks. The talks have come true with Samsung officially announcing the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite before CES 2020. Instead of launching its next-generation Galaxy S series phones, Samsung has declared two Lite versions of the 2019 Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series.

These phones are budget variants of Samsung’s successful 2019 flagships, and they ensure to bring premium features from those high-end phones down to more affordable price points.  Samsung hasn’t disclosed the prices yet but we can expect both these phones in Nepal indeed. Both the new Lite models vary from each other in terms of cameras and chipset.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite Overview

Both the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite phones feature 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O displays at 2400 × 1080 resolution. They have a center-mounted hole-punch display and the hole-punch holds the front-facing cameras beautifully. There are 4,500mAh batteries, and either 6GB or 8GB of RAM with 128GB internal storage. But the rest of the hardware varies considerably among the two devices.

The Galaxy S10 Lite highlights a Snapdragon 855 processor, while the Galaxy Note 10 Lite offers Samsung’s home-brewed Exynos 8895 chipset. The rear camera arrangements on both offer triple-lens setups, but they are also entirely distinct on the two phones.

The S10 Lite comes with a 5-megapixel f/2.4 macro lens; a 48-megapixel F2.0 wide-angle lens featuring “Super Steady OIS,” a feature that the Note 10 Lite doesn’t offer; and a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide featuring a 123-degree angle lens.

The Note 10 Lite has an entirely different combination: a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor; a 12-megapixel f/1.7 wide-angle shooter with dual-pixel technology and OIS; and a 12-megapixel f/2.4 telephoto lens with an OIS. In the paper, this combination looks really promising. We still need to wait for some days for the hands-on experience.

Shaping out the contrasts, of course, is the S Pen on the Note 10 Lite, which isn’t included with the S10 Lite. The S Pen highlights the identical Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) support included with the Note 9 in 2018, enabling it to be used to control the phone.

Price and Availability of Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite

Samsung hasn’t announced the prices or release dates for the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note10 Lite or the markets where they’ll be sold. We can expect these phones to arrive quickly in the Indian market and in the Nepali market too. We will let you know the price and other details very soon.
