Ntc Solves OTP Issue in 97 Range Mobile Numbers

OTP issue Ntc

The issue of not receiving OTP messages was found in the 97 range mobile numbers of Ntc which seems to be solved now. Particularly, SIM owners that used Google, Facebook, and other international services couldn’t receive the One Time Passcodes on their numbers. The company now claims it has sorted the issue.

The news will be a relief to thousands of Ntc users who own a 97 mobile number range. For months, they have grappled with the issue of not receiving OTP on 97 range SIM cards. But after months of coordinating talks with foreign companies, the telco has worked out the issue.

The company has been issuing this range after it reached the limit with its previous 98 range.

But the 97 range is not entirely new to Ntc. The telco used it for its CDMA services. But the company has announced that it will phase out the rudimentary service soon. And it started distributing the 97 range numbers by converting the CDMA-based mobile numbers to GSM.

But users soon realized that the new range had problems receiving OTPs.

OTP issue solved on Ntc’s 97 range

Ntc spokesman Shobhan Adhikari said, “at the beginning, numbers starting with 97 had issues receiving messages from foreign companies. But the issue has been resolved.” “Users will now start receiving OTPs from Facebook, Google, and other foreign companies,” he claimed.

He admitted that at the beginning the 97 range Ntc numbers had issues. It was a new range and authenticating that the number asking for an OTP was from Nepal was difficult. Carriers collect messages and send them in bulk. But for it was a new range, establishing that the CDMA number belonged to Ntc was proving hard for vendors.

He also stated that the Ntc system was not at fault for the issue. He attributed it to the service providers that failed to include the 97 range number into their system as coming from Ntc.

“But after months of communications and attempts, the company has finally solved the problem. But, he reminded us that “some messages could still not establish a connection for OTP messages. He added, “Ntc is at work to eradicate those issues gradually”.
