Private telco Ncell is Nepal’s first in the industry to get recognized with ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications. The Kathmandu-based telecom leader received the prestigious ISO 27001:2022 (ISMS) and ISO 27701:2019 (PIMS) certifications which further solidified its presence as a leading force in data security and privacy.

Ncell was felicitated with the ISO certificates for information security and data privacy commitments. The recognition not only elevates its presence in the industry but also strengthens customers’ trust in it.

It also means that Ncell is the first operator from Nepal to get the certifications in both Information Security Management System (ISMS) and Privacy Information Management System (PIMS). Ncell has always ensured that users’ privacy and data security is of paramount importance.

Earlier, when NTA came calling for TERAMOCS cooperation, Ncell reiterated its commitment to securing its user data at all costs.

What made Ncell eligible for ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications?

Besides providing telecom services, Ncell also does various tasks in the backend to keep its services running in the safest way possible which qualified it for the globally renowned ISO certifications. The company received the ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications for its Data Center, Customer Service, and IT Services. With this apparatus, Ncell has ensured reliable service and users’ data protection.

The company’s CEO and Managing Director (MD) Jabbor Kayumov was jubilant at the ISO honors. He said, “Receiving these globally recognized standards is a key milestone in our continuous efforts to strengthen information security and privacy management. This denotes that Ncell remains steadfast in our commitment to continuous improvement and excellence. Embarking on the journey towards ISO certification is a testament to our dedication to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. As CEO, I am proud to share the transformative experience of achieving this internationally recognized standard, underscoring our commitment to excellence in the telecom industry. I am immensely proud of our team’s dedication, and we will continue to innovate, lead, and uphold the highest standards of security and privacy,” said Jabbor Kayumov, CEO and Managing Director of Ncell.

What does it mean?

Ncell’s claim of two ISO certifications highlights its safe practices that meet the highest standards for protecting customers’ data. It also means that the company does more than enough to ensure optimum security in its data center, customer service, and IT services.

For customers, the ISO certification means that they are assured of secure use of Ncell services which shall offer them all peace of mind. In layman’s terms, it means that Ncell does a lot of protection work to safeguard users’ personal information from reaching rogue hands or hackers.

Ncell implements robust measures for customer protection

Ncell says that it has implemented high-level systems to protect user and partner data from cyber threats. Cyberattacks are not a rarity but due to advanced security measures in place, Ncell avoids unauthorized access to its data centers. Its security protocols comply with global practices for user data protection.

Simply, when it comes to protecting its customers and keeping their data safe, Ncell adheres to ISO standards. It’s also the reason, it has received two ISO certifications. This may also interest you: Ncell’s state-of-the-art data center in Nakkhu is a Tier-3 infrastructure

Ncell is Nepal’s prominent telco player with 13,203,351 subscribers in terms of voice service subscription. It also has around 70 lakhs of users connected to its 4G network. The telco’s ISO certifications are its latest testament to its commitment to ensure high-quality and reliable service and user protection.
