Nepal Telecom (NTC) has expanded its FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) service to 38 locations in Tilottama Municipality of Rupandehi, including all ward offices and health posts. The fiber network provides reliable communication services to the customers, promoting their efficiency and productivity.

The company brought the service live in the areas on Shrawan 01, 2083. According to the company, 38 sites in Tilottama have been connected to NTC Fiber internet with 200 Mbps speed.

The company says that it expects the next-gen internet services to improve connectivity for municipal offices and health facilities. It’s also expected to improve the efficiency of administrative operations, online services, communication, and other digital services.

Nepal Telecom expands Fiber internet in Tilottama Municipality

Nepal Telecom says that it has expanded FTTH services in different parts of the Tilottama Municipality. The company has extended the coverage in ward no. 4, 6, 12, 13 and 14.

The rollout of high-speed fiber internet comes as government bodies increasingly rely on faster internet for daily operations. Unlike ADSL, FTTH is based on fiber cables and delivers higher download and upload speeds with more consistency.

With the latest expansion, 38 ward offices and health posts across Tilottama Municipality now have access to Nepal Telecom’s 200 Mbps FTTH service.

The national telecom giant has been continuing the expansion of its FTTH network across the country to increase access to high-speed fixed broadband services and improve connectivity for households, businesses and public institutions.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
