Nepal Telecom (NTC) has released a statement stating that its issues with the 4G and VoLTE network disruptions have been solved. The company mentioned that a technical problem had led to the 4G mobile data failure across the country; however, services have come back into full operation.
The issue with 4G and VoLTE of Ntc started at around 02:00 PM on 2082-04-02 and lasted till 05:35 PM, for 3 hours and 35 minutes. During the network outage, users complained that they were unable to use 4G data and make VoLTE calls.
It’s said that billing system issue caused service disruption in 4G and VoLTE services. The company hasn’t officially confirmed this.

What caused Ntc 4G network and VoLTE issue?
Ntc earlier mentioned that a technical glitch caused issues in its 4G network, affecting mobile data and VoLTE services. Users couldn’t get 4G signals or make VoLTE calls on their devices. Also, those who receive (including myself), the mobile data was not working and not stable while the 4G signal was also subject to immediate loss. But thankfully, as soon as the company discovered the issue, they started work to restore the service.
It’s also speculated that the company’s billing system caused the network outage. The company is currently working to bring in a new billing system.
But while 4G and 4G-based VoLTE service was down for about four hours, the company’s 3G and 2G services were working fine. Similarly, you could even use Ntc VoWiFi without any issue.

What did users experience?
During the outage, the users were unable to use mobile data today. Likewise, they could not make calls via VoLTE. While many users also said that they received wrong messages from the company regarding their subscription.
Some Ntc users who purchased the Sajilo Unlimited Pack have posted receiving faulty messages for expiry of the data packages. Others also said that they received such messages while they still had active data packs.

Anyway, Ntc 4G and VoLTE seem to be working just fine now. But as we are so dependent on telecom services, it’s only unbearable to go through network issues (even for minutes), especially while outside.
