Nepal Telecommunications Authority NTA

Telecom authority Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has called for registration for digital VAS (Value Added Services) services. Releasing a notice on (Shrawan 18, 2080), the regulator told willing individuals/organizations to be registered to start the service under its new working procedure.

The authority has already released the working procedure for Digital VAS service, 2080 to regulate Digital VAS (DVAS). Therefore, individuals who want to start such a service have been requested to submit an application with their service plans and other details. The procedure will come into implementation after the registration concludes.

NTA says that before the procedure comes into effect, existing Digital VAS service providers (individuals/organizations) must submit their details. The regulatory body has called on them to submit their applications with the necessary documents before Ashoj 14, 2080 for their registration.

The service license for companies stays valid for 5 years. Likewise, the authority will have the right to monitor the services to ensure that they comply with the procedure. It can also revoke the license in case of no renewal from the service providers. However, DVAS service providers will be given an opportunity to explain before their license is terminated.

  • A copy of the VAT certificate
  • Plan for the operation of the service
  • A No Objection copy agreed with a telecom service provider

Also, individuals who seek to start DVAS can also become DVAS Partners or SMS Aggregators.
