Xiaomi 17 launched with 6.3″ display, 7000mAh battery

Xiaomi 17 has been launched in China along with the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and Xiaomi 17 Pro phones. The base variant is for users who prefer flagship specifications with a compact size. The Chinese brand has skipped the “16” series and its naming conventions to align more with iPhones and, more specifically, the iPhone 17 Series. Here, we take a closer look at the phone, its features, specs, and discuss its official price.

Xiaomi 17 Specifications and features

Xiaomi 17 flaunts a matte finish design, has rounded corners, and weighs 191 grams. The frames are aluminum, and the screen gets Dragon Crystal Glass protection. It’s protected from water and dust with IP68-certified capabilities. And just like the iPhone 17 Pro, it’s a compact-sized phone with a 6.3-inch 1.5K (2,656×1,220 pixels) screen. The display runs on LTPO OLED technology and features a 120Hz refresh rate and 3500 nits of peak brightness.

Just like its Pro models, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and Xiaomi 17 Pro, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and boots on HyperOS 3 (Android 16). The phone’s storage starts at 256 GB, and there is also an option of 512 GB storage, while it comes with 12 or 16 GB of RAM.

There are three 50 MP cameras comprising wide, ultrawide, and a periscope telephoto units. The front also has a 50 MP selfie camera. The phone is capable of 8K video recording at up to 30 fps from both of its front and rear cameras. With improved software and hardware capabilities, you would get better photography on this phone.

Battery, connectivity, and other features

Xiaomi 17 has a 7000mAh battery, which is even larger than that on Xiaomi 17 Pro (6300mAh). It shares the same 100W wired, 50W wireless, and 22.5W reverse wireless charging with its Pro siblings.

The phone supports WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, has a USB Type-C 3.2 port, as well as NFC, and an infrared port. For security, it comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi 17 price in Nepal

Xiaomi 17 starts at the price of CNY 4,499 for 12/256 GB. The 12/512 GB and 16/512 GB models are set at CNY 4,799 and CNY 4,999, respectively.
