Motorola has officially made its comeback in Nepal through Chaudhary Group (CG). The company announced its formal re-entry at an event on January 30, 2025, at Vivanta Hotel, Kathmandu. Restarting its business, the Moto has brought 3 phones and will announce the price of the other 5 models later. These are the “G”, “Edge”, and the flagship “Razr” series phones and will be suitable for buyers with different budgets and requirements. The event had the presence of leadership team of Motorola from India. While it was CG introduced various Motorola phones for the Nepali market. CG serves as the official distributor of Motorola phones in Nepal.

Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director of Chaudhary Group and Head of India offline & SAAR Countries, Mr. Vipin Raina discussed the brand’s core values and features that make Motorola phones stand out in the competitive market.

With their partnership, CG Mobile has become Nepal’s distributor for Motorola phones since August 2024. The business house aims to revive Motorola’s smartphone business in Nepal with this move. It’s worth mentioning that CG has also partnered with UK-based phone maker Nothing Technologies. This partnership influences Motorola phones price in Nepal.

In its first phase, Motorola has announced the launch of the Moto G45, G64, and G85 phones. And while the price of the Edge 50 Fusion has also been announced, it will come to Nepal later. Similarly, price and other details of Moto G05, G35, Edge 50, and Razr 50 will be available later. These phones are available to buy on Daraz and CG’s digital platforms. Here are the price of these Motorola phones in Nepal:

Moto G45

Moto G45 is a midrange phone for budget phone buyers. It features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display and 720 x 1600 pixel resolution. But it gets Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the screen. It’s water-repellent so, that adds another relief to the user. It’s powered by Snapdragon 6s Gen3 processor and comes with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage.

For photography, you get a 50 MP main wide camera and a 2 MP macro camera on the back while the front has a 16 MP selfie shooter. Its battery capacity is 5000mAh with 18W fast charging. It’s a 5G phone so, it’s got to be one of the most affordable 5G smartphones in Nepal.

Moto G64

Moto G64 is another compact device from Motorola. It comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ screen boasting 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution. So, you get a sharp and detailed viewing experience on its screen. Moto Edge 50 Fusion

Moto Edge 50 Fusion is an upper-midrange phone from Motorola. It features a 6.7-inch P-OLED screen, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits. The device gets Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the screen. Like G85, it also supports eSIM technology.

The device runs on Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. Likewise, it ships with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. For photography, its back features 50 MP wide and 13 MP ultra-wide cameras. The selfie camera is a huge 32 MP selfie camera. It’s got a 5000mAh battery and 68W fast charging makes life even better. This phone will come soon in the Nepali market.

Our thoughts on Motorola phones coming to Nepal, again!

It is really pleasing that Motorola phones are coming back to Nepal. We expect more of the decent entry-level and midrange phones that exactly suit the Nepalese market. But some people expect flagship phones including the Razr foldable phone.

The Budget Mid-range market is the mass-selling product in Nepal and Motorola will try to get more share out of it. So, to see if Motorola’s comeback challenges other smartphone vendors in this mid-range segment, we have to wait a bit to find out later.
