Xiaomi TV ranks 5th global tops in China

Xiaomi TV has ranked 1st in China and 5th in the world. The Chinese brand has broken many smartphones records recently. Now, Xiaomi TVs have also raked up momentous achievements.

Last month, Xiaomi became the world’s largest smartphone brand for the first time in June, in terms of shipment. But that is not all, Xiaomi’s IoT products have increasingly become a hit over the months. However, this time it is Xiaomi TV that has manifested its soaring global appeal.

Xiaomi’s 2021 Q2 Report

Xiaomi Group has released its second-quarter report. Its founder Lei Jun shared that Xiaomi as a brand drew in 87.8 billion (($13.55 billion) yuan in the second quarter of 2021. This resulted in a net profit of 8.3 billion ($1.28 billion) which was an increase of 83% over the previous quarter. As of now, Xiaomi’s cash reserve stands at 111.6 billion yuan ($17.23 billion).

Xiaomi TV Is Now A Global Brand

Xiaomi began as a software company for smartphones in 2010 but quickly turned towards manufacturing smartphones and is now a leading brand in the world. The company ventured into the TV market in 2013. Fast forward to 2021, it is rivaling the traditional market leaders in the business.

Xiaomi has equipped its TVs with the latest tech and innovations to make its mark among the established brands. The company launched Xiaomi Mi TV 6 OLED back on August 10. It is considered the first OLED TV developed for the youth. Lu Weibing, the GM of the Redmi brand said, Xiaomi TV will bring “a new situation to the OLED TV market.” Xiaomi TV comes with modern TV technologies and features at affordable costs which is why it is driving up the sales benchmark in a short period.

It is also remarkable that Xiaomi TV has remained the no.1 TV brand in China for 10 consecutive brands pointing to its domestic monopoly. Likewise, MIUI’s global active users have reached 454 million till Q2 2021.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
