Ncell reduces tariff with 3% TSC cut

Private telecom operator Ncell Axiata Limited has announced that it is reducing TSC on its services by 3% from Shrawan 1st. The company’s decision complies with the Government of Nepal’s policy to relax TSC on telecom service by the same margin from the FY 079/80.

The company announced the decision today (July 17th) via its social media handle.

This means Ncell will charge its customers a 10% TSC on its telecom services customers from today. Previously, Ncell like other telecom companies was charged 13% TSC (Telecom Service Charge).

The decision follows the government’s new policy implementing from Shrawan 1st, the start of the new Fiscal Year 079/80.  The former finance minister Mr. Janardan Sharma had announced the government’s decision to slash TSC from 13% to 10% in the last budget speech.

With the TSC liability now reduced, Ncell users will receive slightly cheaper services from the prominent operator in Nepal. The company provides voice, data, SMS, and many other Value-Added Services (VAS).

Ncell slashing 3% TSC will lower the cost of all services including data and voice

Ncell is Nepal’s leading telecom operator with services spanning the whole country. Its decision to slash 3% TSC will boost customer satisfaction with its services especially; voice, and data. The Axiata-owned Ncell has aggressively expanded its 4G coverage across Nepal with the network available through over 3700 sites.

In the meantime, the telco is also planning on launching the popular VoLTE service to offer HD voice calls over LTE. Ncell is also gearing up for 5G proceedings and newer developments could take place later this year.

Ntc, the other leading telco in Nepal has also announced its new tariffs after the 3% TSC cut beginning today (Shrawan 1st). The marginal tariff will also apply to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Nepal. It is likely that the ISPs will release their new tariffs soon which won’t make a remarkable difference in costs, but remains vital for cheaper telecom services for the customers. Meanwhile, over 65 lakh and 22 thousand users are connected to the company’s high-speed 4G network.
