Nepal Telecom (NTC) has launched 4G service in Lulang, Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-02 of Myagdi district. The latest service expansion brings high-speed mobile data service to the remote region. It also marks a new milestone for the government-backed company as its 4G reaches closer to 99% coverage across the local levels.
The company brought into operation its 4G network after installing a BTS tower in Khoriya of the Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-04. This enables the locals as well as the visitors to access high-speed mobile broadband on their devices. The area was previously called the Lulang Village Development Committee (VDC).
NT has shown a strong commitment to expanding its 4G services across all the local levels. It’s also extending 4G to more rural areas as it seeks to use them in the near future for the 5G network. As of now, Ntc 4G has reached over 98% of local levels.

Ntc 4G expands in Lulang of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-02
Ntc started its 4G in various areas inside Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-02 such as Dar, Khoriya, Lamsung, Lulang, Mareni, and Muna. According to the Dhaulagiri RM chairman, Akprasad Kumai, the 4G tower was erected targeting the service expansion in these areas.
“There was a problem with poor signal reception at the Lulang ward office, health post, Lamsung, Mareni, and Lulang, from the BTS tower in Mudi,” he said, but with a new cell tower, “The problem of having to go to near the tower to exchange information and call has been eliminated.”
The launch of the 4G in this area also owes a positive role to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). The mobile tower at Khoriya was ready in Falgun, 2081. However, it couldn’t come into operation due to the lack of electricity. NEA has now expanded the national transmission line there and electrified the local level. Therefore, the tower is now launched in its full operational capacity.
As Ntc plans to phase out 2G in the 1800 MHz band at first, its plan is likely to cut off legacy networks in the near future. So, the road to 4G is its priority and the only option as the 5G network launch waits in 2082. In its favor, though, 4G is a highly potent mobile network that can provide over 50 Mbps or more in download speed in a favorable environment. Therefore, it’s good enough for social media browsing, moderate-size file downloads, video calls, etc.
The launch of Ntc 4G in Lulang, Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-02 is nevertheless a good move in the direction. The company could achieve nationwide 4G coverage in the coming months.
