Daraz Express DEX Nepal

Daraz has started its logistics arm, Daraz Express (DEX), as its last-mile delivery solution. With this new vertical integration, the eCommerce giant will deliver goods that are and are not available on its platform.

Being the prominent online marketplace in Nepal and in the whole South Asian region, Daraz continues to diversify its ways to serve customers. The DEX platform aligns with its motto to help brands and sellers in their business transactions. This will help enterprises to sell their products to customers even when their products are not featured on Daraz.

Daraz DEX to sell products that are not listed on its platform

According to Daraz, the Daraz Express (DEX) directly facilitates brands and sellers to deliver products to their customers quickly and reliably.

DEX uses an artificial intelligence (AI)-based route-planning system and real-time parcel tracking technology. Therefore, it has the ability to complete local orders within 24 hours and inter-city deliveries within 48 hours.

This reduces the average delivery time to less than 1.5 days. Additionally, it provides an integrated solution to ensure the delivery of parcels of all values, with a success rate of more than 90 percent. These improvements have significantly contributed to increasing operational efficiency and ensuring customer satisfaction. Daraz says that the 4.6/5 customer rating on DEX is a testament to this.

Daraz has expanded its DEX unit to 108 major cities across Nepal. It plans to further accelerate its expansion to over 70 cities before the highly anticipated November 11.11 sale. This plan reflects the company’s commitment to ‘fast and reliable e-commerce services for all’.

With DEX, Daraz also furthers smooth cash flow a transparent financial management for sellers. This gives sellers the facility of cash-on-delivery (COD) amount settlement multiple times a week. Daraz won’t charge fees for failed deliveries, so it will help merchants generate more revenue while reducing the risk to the bare minimum.

“DEX is redefining last-mile delivery systems across South Asia,” said Ahmad Tanweer, Chief Logistics Officer of Daraz Group. Our mission is to build a delivery ecosystem that simplifies logistics, further strengthens customer experience, and drives sustainable growth in the e-commerce industry. ”

Daraz states that DEX will help Nepali brands and sellers gain expanded market reach, ease of doing business, and build a robust regional e-commerce ecosystem. This will further strengthen the company’s mission to “uplift communities through the power of commerce.”

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
