Nepal Telecom (NTC) has declared that all of its services in Makawanpur district are operating on fiber technology. The achievement comes after the completion of copper-to-fiber migration. This enables customers to receive FTTH service, which brings much faster internet speed, telephone, and TV (NT TV) services via a single fiber cable.
Nepal Telecom declares copper-to-fiber exchange completion in Makawanpur
Nepal Telecom says that it recently completed conversion of copper lines to fiber in Padampokhari exchange. It was the last remaining copper exchange in the district. Following this migration, NT said that the district is copper-free.
The company shut down its Padampokhari Exchange on Jestha 11, 2083, at a program.
According to Nepal Telecom, there are currently 43,424 ports available in Makawanpur district. Under this, 38,343 home passes are available, while 9,256 ports are in operation. The number of OLTs (Optical Line Terminals) is 13. There are 83 Fiber Distribution Cabinets (FDCs) across the district.
