Recently, Nepal Telecom (Ntc) completed the migration of copper lines to fiber networks in Babarmahal, Bharatpur, Butwal, Lahan, and Ilam. The upgradation now allows the company to provide faster and more reliable telecom services via optical fiber.

In Babarmahal, the state-backed telco recently transformed its copper network providing legacy telephone and ADSL to the fiber network. The company replaced its old-generation-based E10B Switch with fiber technology on Ashar 25, 2080. Now, customers can get its popular Triple Play services through a single cable. Nepal Telecom provides its Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) service with telephone, fast internet, and TV. Check out: Nepal Telecom FTTH Fiber Internet: Price, Speed, Offer, Packs

On the occasion, Director Poudel thanked all the staff at Babarmahal Exchange, Bagmati Provincial Directorate, and Sundhara office for their participation in fiber migration. He said that the company has given more priority to upgrading technologies and providing reliable services over profit.

Likewise, in 2080-Ashar-29, Nepal Telecom completed copper-to-fiber migration in the Butwal exchange and Yogikuti exchange. Both the dated exchanges were shut down by the company’s Director Shailesh Bahadur Amatya. With this, all the PSTN (copper-based) telephone lines in Butwal Exchange and Yogikuti Exchange are now running on next-gen fiber cables. Additionally, Ntc is speedily replacing the copper network with a fiber network in Butwal.

Similarly, the state-backed operator completed copper to fiber migration of a 20-year-old JRACK Exchange in Bharatpur in the presence of Ntc Bagmati Director Sabina Pradhan on Ashar 16, 2080. The telco will now provide its voice, broadband internet, and IPTV via fiber cable. The company has extended its gratitude to all who helped in the momentous transition toward the current-generation fiber network.

The technology greatly improves telephone service allowing for clear and HD quality voice in the telephone while the internet also becomes far more consistent and reliable.

Similarly, from Shrawan 05 in Ilam, the telco successfully transitioned its Exchange from copper to fiber network for PSTN telephone lines. Reena Dangol, Director at the Provincial Directorate turned off the traditional copper-based system as it migrated to the next-generation fiber network. As stated above, the switch to fiber enables the company to provide telephone, TV, and fiber internet through a single fiber cable.

Copper to Fiber Migration ongoing countrywide

In recent years, Ntc has been actively replacing old-generation copper lines with fiber networks. The telecom market is competitive and to stay relevant, the country’s largest operator is also adopting the latest technologies to provide reliable services.

Copper lines are traditional and are not capable of providing reliable services in today’s times. Fiber optics are more versatile, faster, and more durable. Plus, they are also less susceptible to environmental hazards. Further, the company can leverage the optics to provide voice, FTTH internet, and NT TV services with a single cable to its customers. This is why, the telco is rapidly making the switch to fiber networks across the country. Now you can also order an Ntc fiber connection with a phone call.

Ntc has also requested customers to migrate to the fiber network to reap the benefits of a much faster and more capable technology.
