The issue of iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro overheating has not just caused worry to the users and potential buyers but also drawn a negative PR to Apple since the lineups reached its users recently, however, the US phone maker has confirmed that the fix is coming on the way that addresses the issue which will calm the concerned users.
The news will bring relief to the users who were worried about their newly-bought devices overheating potentially causing any risks if they applied. But it is also noteworthy that with every new iOS update, this is almost likely, more on that later below. But first, Apple has confirmed that it will push a software update to cool down (sic) its iPhone 15 lineups.
Apple launched its latest lineups- iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max at its Wonderlust event on September 12. The handsets went on sale just a week ago.
Apple sending a fix for iPhone 15 overheating issue
Apple shared with Forbes that overheating is normal during the initial days with the latest iOS version. This is most likely due to the operating system indexing photos, and files and running other processes in the background, 9to5mac suggests.
Likewise, Apple has also found that a bug in the iOS 17 made overheating worse on iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro devices. But soon, Apple will address the situation with a software update.
The company reportedly told 9to5Mac that the devices ran hotter also due to recent updates to third-party apps which burdened the devices’ systems with more workload. The Cupertino giant says that it is directly working with the app developers to iron out the issue.
Apple said that the third-party apps causing the iPhone 15 models to overheat are Asphalt 9, Instagram, and Uber. However, according to the company, Instagram already rolled out a fix for it on September 27.

Here’s what Apple said:
We have identified a few conditions which can cause the iPhone to run warmer than expected. The device may feel warmer during the first few days after setting up or restoring the device because of increased background activity.
“We have also found a bug in iOS 17 that is impacting some users and will be addressed in a software update. Another issue involves some recent updates to third-party apps that are causing them to overload the system. We’re working with these app developers on fixes that are in the process of rolling out,” the company added.
Good thing to hear: iPhone 15 overheating is not due to its titanium design
Many were concerned and raised a theory that the hardware design of titanium might have caused the overheating on the iPhone 15 and the Pro variants. But Apple has responded denying the assumption. In fact, Apple says that the new design has better heat dissipation advantages than previous iPhones which came with stainless steel. This could be due to the existence of the aluminum substructure in the design. If you were unaware, iPhone 15 Pro variants come with a titanium design while the standard variants retain the aluminum frame.

Conclusion: Apple will “fix” the iPhone 15 overheating issue with the next iOS update which is likely to be iOS 17.0.3. So far, there is no revelation on the date for the update rollout but it could be sooner than later.
