Xiaomi, the number one smartphone brand of Nepal has launched a new smartphone. The brand launched a smartphone dubbed as the Redmi 9 Prime in Nepal. The brand is dominating the Nepalese tech market with its latest smartphones. Redmi 9 Prime is the latest addition to its portfolio. It arrived with some tweaks and upgrades compared to its predecessor. So, let’s know more in detail about the specs, availability, and price of Redmi 9 Prime in Nepal below.

Redmi 9 Prime is the rebranded version of the Redmi 9 that was launched a few months back in Nepal. The smartphone comes with attractive and impressive specs & features like an FHD+ resolution display, gaming-focused processor, and quad rear cameras.
In terms of design, the Redmi 9 Prime is through and through a Xiaomi smartphone. The smartphone is very similar to that of Redmi 9. It comes with a familiar Aura 360 design that brings features like 3D unibody with concentric circles around the rear cameras. It also has an anti-fingerprint ripple texture for better grip on the phone. The smartphone is built of polycarbonate at the rear and has a plastic frame. The device has a waterdrop notch at the top that houses the selfie camera at the front.
Redmi 9 Prime flaunts a 6.53-inch (16.58cm) Full HD Plus IPS LCD display along with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. It boasts a screen-to-body ratio of 83.3 per cent, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 400 nits of brightness, and 395 PPI density. The TUV certified screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel. It also has a security feature like a fingerprint scanner and AI Face unlock.
Talking about the optical department, Redmi 9 Prime houses a quad rear camera setup. The quad rear camera setup includes a 13 MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture & FOV (Field Of View)118˚, a 5 MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, it comes with an 8 MP selfie camera along with f/2.4 aperture and portrait mode.
Talking about the videography of the smartphone, it can record videos up to 1080P @ 30fps both at the rear and front camera. The smartphone comes with camera features such as AI scene detection, autofocus, kaleidoscope mode, palm shutter, and LED flash
Under the hood, Redmi 9 Prime is fueled by the High-performance MediaTek Helio G80 chipset. It is the same chipset used in Realme Narzo 10. It comes attached with the 4GB of RAM along with storage options of 64GB and 128GB. You can also expand your storage via a dedicated MicroSD card slot up to 512GB. On the software front, Redmi 9 Prime runs on MIUI 11 based Android 10 OS.
The smartphone has MediaTek’s HyperEngine game technology onboard for enhanced gaming performance. So, you will be able to keep your pace and it ensures fast and smooth action and provides high-quality performance.
Redmi 9 Prime is backed up by the massive 5,020mAh battery along with the support for 18 W Fast charging. The brand claims that the smartphone lasts up to 185 hours of music playback, 31 hours of a phone call, 19 hours of continuous navigation and 19 hours of video playback.
Talking about the connectivity options, it features Dual SIM, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac(dual-band), Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, GPS/AGPS/GLONASS/BEIDOU, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, IR blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Redmi 9 Prime is launched at the price of Rs. 17,999 for 4/64GB and Rs. 18,999 for the 4/128GB in Nepal. The smartphone will be available very soon for purchase at all the Xiaomi authorized stores and offline shops across Nepal. It is available in four different color variants such as Matte Black, Space Blue, Mint Green, and Sunrise Flare. Redmi 9 Prime will compete with the likes of Redmi Note 9, Oppo A12, Realme C15, etc. for supremacy in the Nepalese market.
