Nokia, once a leader in the mobile phone market is now struggling hard to have a bigger share in the smartphone segment. Nokia is trying to comeback with a series of smartphones from last year. These phones are also being available here in Nepal. HMD Global, the parent company of Nokia has showcased three smartphones at once in Feb 2018. The three smartphones were launched in Nepal by the authorized distributor Paramount Electronics. The three smartphones are Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 2018 and Nokia 1. All the three smartphones were showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona. Nokia phones are more famous for its stock like Android experience in the market which gets regular updates.
Here is the list of those Nokia smartphones which were recently launched in the market with their details specifications.
Nokia 7 Plus features a 6-inch Full HD+ LCD display with the resolution of 1800 x 2160 pixels. The phone has an aspect ratio of 18:9 which is not near to the recent trend or near the bezel-less display.
Nokia 7 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor which is clocked at 1.8 GHz and is equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Thre is a 12MP primary sensor which is coupled with the secondary telephote lens of 13 MP. The dual camera setup is very handy for the portrait shot and bokeh effect.
The Nokia 7 Plus is a dual SIM smartphone that accepts dual Nano-SIM. It supports all the bands of 2G, 3G, and 4G bands that are deployed in Nepal. Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC are the connectivity option that is available on the phone. Nokia 7 Plus is priced at Rs. 46,899 in Nepal.
Nokia 6(2018) was launched in January of 2018. The 5.5-inch phone has IPS LCD Display with a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels. The display is protected by a Gorilla Glass 3.
The Nokia 6(2018) is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor which is clocked at 2.2 GHz with a 3GB of RAM. On the storage, the phone has a decent 32GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card. The company aims to outperform the similar range phone with the new chipset.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nokia 6 (2018) packs a 16-megapixel rear camera with a dual LED Flash and an 8-megapixel front camera. The phone runs on top of Android 8.0 Oreo with a minimal amount of bloatware.
Nokia 1 comes with a 4.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 pixels by 854 pixels. With the strong build quality, Nokia 1 tries to regain the market share with a budget price and a decent size.
The Nokia 1 is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor which has a mediocre performance rating. The phone comes with 1GB of RAM.and packs 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The use of 1GB of RAM seems to be too be very annoying but the phone is using the light version of Android OS.
On the camera department, the phone has a 5-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera.The Nokia 1 runs Android 8.1 and is powered by a 2150mAh removable battery.
