Summary✨

  • DGo OTT, operated by Dish Home Pvt. Ltd., becomes the first licensed OTT platform in Nepal, now airing FIFA World Cup 2026.
  • The platform focuses on web series, movies, and documentaries while obtaining the broadcasting license from MoCIT.
  • DGo aims to compete globally by providing top-notch entertainment services and has a user-friendly interface across smartphones and web.
  • Users can navigate content easily in both Nepali and English and subscribe via phone number or Gmail ID.
  • With the growth of OTT regulation in Nepal, D Go looks set to expand and lead in digital content distribution.

DGo app, being operated under Dish Home Pvt. Ltd., has become the first licensed OTT platform in Nepal. The digital space is currently airing the FIFA World Cup 2026, but it primarily caters to the audience with web series, movies, documentaries, etc.

Dish Home Digital Pvt. Ltd. has obtained the necessary broadcasting license for OTT broadcasting services from the Department of Information and Broadcasting under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MoCIT), in accordance with the prevailing National Broadcasting Regulations.

The license earns it a legal permission to continue its operations as an OTT platform. Operating with official global OTT streaming rights is a significant achievement for the Nepali digital entertainment industry.

The company says that it will lead the platform in the international digital content distribution sector. Going forward, the D Go platform will be developed as a reliable home to movies, series, live broadcasts, sports, and other diverse entertainment content.

D Go OTT content

DishHome Digital says that it’s committed to developing DGo OTT as a globally competitive Nepali digital streaming platform by providing world-class entertainment services to the audience through cutting-edge technology, excellent user experience, official digital content, and international partnerships.

DGo OTT platform UI seems user-friendly

DGo is available on both smartphones, TV via its app and also on the web. The contents are placed in a user-friendly interface under different categories. You can find content through DISCOVER, MOVIES, SERIES, SPORTS, LIVE TV, EPG, etc.

Discover lets you see what’s available, while Movies lets you see what movies are showing on it. Besides, you can also see documentaries, short movies, and other content. You can check out series two. At the time of writing this article, there are two Nepali web series- Ghar and Baikuntha Yatra. You can find Korean dramas, Turkish Dramas, Russian series, etc. The sports section has FIFA World Cup 2026, SAFF WC 2026, NPL (match reply), etc. The Live TV section lets you watch TV channels on the web and on the app. It also lets you stream popular Nepali and foreign TV channels from this section.

You can navigate through the options in Nepali and English as you desire. You need to log in to buy a subscription. The process is easy. You can use your phone number or Gmail ID to sign up.

So far, the country has a few OTT platforms. But the scope could get wider with qualitative competition in the industry. The government has started OTT regulation in Nepal, and each entity needs registration to operate. In the near future, OTT platforms could grow and expand with a wider genre of content for Nepali audiences. As more viewers deviate from TV, handheld devices are the future for content consumption, and streaming platforms are going to be the mainstream if they already haven’t.

Therefore, DGo looks set to have a greater future in Nepal’s digital content landscape.
