As the country is battling the COVID19 pandemic with lockdown and restrictions in several places, Nepal Telecom brings Lockdown Stay Connected offer to provide convenience to people in such difficult situations. Ntc lockdown stay connected offer comes into effect from Baishak 31, 2078 (that is May 14, 2021) and remains valid for a month. Last year Ntc brought stay connected offer which is still popular among people with a heavy volume on 4G. This year, as the COVID situation is pretty worse, Nepal Telecom tries to provide affordable internet connectivity for the day period with this package. This should encourage people to stay wherever they are.

What is in the Ntc Lockdown stay connected offer?

As mentioned above, the Ntc lockdown offer has two benefits; first, it is the unlimited day data package and the second is the bonus on recharge. The cost of the unlimited day data package is Rs 39 (inclusive of taxes), which will have a data speed of 1 Mbps.

As people are staying home due to the restrictions, they can carry out their online entertainment, communication over chat/OTT apps, and work from home/online meeting via this package at a very affordable cost. This is also suitable for people who attend online packages. There are other packages like eShikshya and Happy Learning package which has data volume for some applications (plus all-app data) but this one has no application limitation but the speed is restricted to 1 Mbps always. Maybe for some video streaming, the quality will be low, otherwise, it should work for most cases.

Once you subscribe to the offer, you can use the data package for 24 hours whereas as it is a day package, the validity period is from 5 am to 5 pm. So, for the time period beyond this slot (5 am to 5 pm), the data volume will use up from other data packages or PayG.

In addition to the unlimited day data pack, Ntc has brought this bonus on recharge with MPoS (which is actually the digital means of recharge from several payment service providers like eSewa, Khalti, etc). The bonus is valid for digital top-up beyond Rs 200.

So, if you recharge your account via various payment services with Rs 200 to Rs 499, you will get a 500 MB data bonus to use within 2 days. Similarly, such a recharge above Rs 500 will provide you 1GB data bonus to use within 4 days. Ntc recommends using the data volume over the 4G network. If you have not activated 4G in your SIM, dial *444# to check if it is compatible with 4G. You shall also get some free data volume in Ntc with 4G activation.
