Ncell has collected revenue of 10.15 Arab in Q3 2021. The private telco’s mobile data contributed to 30% of its total revenues. While the private telecom company increased total revenue from the Q3 of the previous year, the revenue has declined compared to the Q2 of this year.

Ncell has released its financial reports for Q3 2021. Its latest figures show that Ncell accumulated a total revenue of 10 Arab, 15 crores, 81 thousand, and 60 thousand.

This is a marginal increase in its revenues from the previous year for the same time. In Q3 2020, the Axiata Group-owned telco collected a sum of 10 Arab, 3 crores, 59 lakhs, and 50 thousand for the same period. Comparing the two figures, the private telco has made a slim increment in its revenues. Between the two periods, the telco recorded an increase of revenues by 12 crores, 22 lakh, and 10 thousand. The below table shows in detail Ncell’s revenue collection for particular quarters.

Meanwhile, Ncell has seen a slim decline in its revenues from Q2 of this year. In Q2 2021, the telecom company submitted a revenue of 10 Arab, 56 crore, 31 lakhs, and 90 thousand. This shows a decrease in Ncell’s total revenue by 40 crore, 50 lakhs, and 30 thousand.

Meanwhile, the private’s direct expense has also reduced from the second quarter of 2021. The data shows Ncell’s Direct Expenses at 23.9% and 20.6% for Q2 and Q3 respectively.

Unlike total revenue, Ncell’s data consumption has continued at an inspiring rate. The telco reports that its total revenues are inspired by 30% of mobile data consumption. The Coronavirus fear pushed services online and this has spiraled data consumption in the last two years. The figure of Ncell Average Data consumption per user shows rising graphs of Ncell’s data usage below.

Ncell’s data usage has continued to rise each quarter in 2021. In Q1 Ncell’s data contribution to its total revenue was 24%. This rose to 25% in Q2 and jumped by 5% to 30% in Q3.

Ncell Axiata reports that the company has a total operating cost of 56.2% out of its total revenues in the current Q3 2021.

Slower than Expected Growth

In a nutshell, Ncell’s Q3 financial report has been a mixed bag. Its total revenues collection has dropped by a margin but its data consumption is encouraging.

Axiata, Ncell’s parent company, says its Q3 2021 financial report shows Ncell’s slower than expected recovery from the COVID-19 wrought times. Further, it is keeping tabs on “inflationary pressure on SIMs and delay in network equipment delivery due to the global supply chain disruption, macroeconomic and regulatory risks across several markets”.

The company’s total revenue has taken a minor dip from the previous quarters. However, its data usage has continued a momentous growth owing to the lockdown forced work-from-home and e-classes.

Meanwhile, NTA’s latest stats show that Ncell currently boasts a total of 1 crore, 66 lakh subscribers. In this, above 60 lakh subscribers have activated 4G and around 23 lakh are on the 3G network.

Ncell is one of the largest telecom operators in Nepal with a 40.19% market share.
