Nepal Telecom 4G Kagbeni

Nepal Telecom (NTC) has begun its 4G mobile network in Kagbeni and Khinga. The arrival of the high-speed broadband network reinforces the connectivity around the popular tourist region in the Northern District of Mustang.

The latest 4G expansion in the region gives Ntc a wider network reach in the region. Once deprived of telecom services, Mustang is now getting higher broadband coverage thanks to the telco’s rural mobile service expansion.

The operator extended the service keeping in mind the route that connects Kagbeni with Muktinath temple. The connectivity will now benefit the locals, businesses, and visitors to the popular site.

The 4G network started operating after the operator set up a tower at Khinga, Baragung Muktichhetra ward no. 1. The operator has erected the mobile tower on a 25-meter-long temporary construction. This has started both 2G and 4G services for the first time in the area as per Keshav Sharma, Office in-charge and Engineer, Ntc Baglung.

2G is used for voice while 4G brings high-speed mobile broadband to smartphone users.

Nepal Telecom connects people with 4G in Kagbeni and Khinga

The launch of the 4G network by Nepal Telecom now covers a large area in Baragung Muktichhetra Rural Municipality – 1. This includes Khinga village, Jharkot, Puthak, and Jhong bringing voice and broadband LTE internet to 200 households. Besides, the 4G service will also help with connectivity for travelers along the route from Kagbeni to the popular holy Muktinath temple. Mr. Sharma says internal and foreign tourists will now have access to voice and high-speed broadband along the way on the Ntc network.

“We faced a lot of difficulties in the absence of a mobile tower. But with the tower coming into operation, talking over the phone, and browsing the internet have become possible,” shared Ringjin Namgel Gurung, Chairman of Baragung Muktikshetra Rural Municipality.

He said the municipality office also helped in transporting telecom equipment from the road to the tower site.

Not having a mobile service has long bothered tourists and people from four wards of the rural municipality. But the situation has changed for the better, remarked Pramesh Gurung, the Chairman of ward no.1 of Baragung Muktikshetra.

Kagbeni gets 4G upgrade

Previously, Kagbeni only had 2G and 3G mobile services. So, the people were deprived of high-speed mobile broadband. But now Ntc has brought the next-generation mobile service to the area. This allows people to enjoy fast internet speed and also HD phone calls via Ntc VoLTE service.

Although fast, 3G service is dated and pales compared to the high-performance capacity of 4G.
