The cellular network of Ncell Axiata suffered an outage today Thursday, December 8 during the morning but has been restored now. The mobile network went offline for over an hour before restoring to normal. The company has released its statement regarding its network disruption.
The company said the short outage was caused by the road expansion works which resulted in the “fiber links breakage” connecting Butwal-Bardaghat and Damauli-Abhukhaireni.
“We would like to regretfully inform you that today (December 08, 2022) our network has witnessed disturbance due to multiple optical fiber links breakage connecting Butwal-Bardaghat and Damauli-Abhukhaireni, caused by road expansion works,” the company said in its statement.
As per Ncell’s official statement, its mobile signals stopped working at around 9 am. As soon as calls couldn’t connect, people took to social media and shared their difficulty in connecting on the Ncell network. The outage didn’t sustain for long as the telco says its network came back online at 11 am. Ncell mobilized its First Line Maintenance (FLM) Team whose intervention brought back the network soon. But users did complain that they struggled to get connectivity even after 11 am. Signals were visible on phones but calls, SMS, and data were not working. In the morning, it was said that the network congestion was to blame for the mishap.
Anyway, the network seems to have come back to full functioning now.
The company said that it instantly dispatched its FLM team to the field to resume data, voice, and SMS services. It also called for apologies for the network disruption.

Ncell expresses apologies following a short network outage
“We express our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen incident and our deep appreciation for your patience and understanding,” the statement read.
At the same time, the telco has also requested everyone to be conscious regarding the protection of its telecom infrastructures. “Ncell also requests all to be cautious towards the protection of telecommunications infrastructures crucial for keeping essential telecommunications services up and running,” it said.
Likewise, the company thanked its customers, business partners, and well-wishers for their trust and support. It expressed commitment to ensuring reliable and top-quality services via the same statement.
