Ncell Axiata has further expanded its 4G network in the remote districts of Karnali and Far-West (Sudurpaschim) provinces. With the latest expansion, the district headquarters of Mugu, Dolpa, Humla, and Bajura have been connected by Ncell’s fourth-gen mobile broadband network. The operator says that now the locals in these areas can leverage the opportunities digital connectivity and technology can bring right to their devices.

To start 4G in these new locations, Ncell installed four 4G base transceiver stations (BTS) one each in Thuli Bheri Municipality (Dolpa), Chhayanath Rara Municipality (Mugu), Badimalika Municipality (Bajura), and Simikot Rural Municipality (Humla) last month. While doing so, Ncell replaced the existing basic mobile service being provided through V-SAT technology. Now, the locals of Gamgadhi, Dunai, Martadi, and Simikot can enjoy high-speed mobile internet thanks to Ncell 4G.

Jabbor Kayumov, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ncell said, “We are delighted to empower our customers with new technology. It is a milestone because, with this, we have connected all districts of Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province, contributing to the Digital Nepal vision of the government and building of digital inclusive communities.”

Ncell installed 338 base stations in FY 2022/23 setting up mobile services and enhancing 4G. The same drive for better network coverage and capacity has continued with these latest network extension works. 4G is the current best mobile network in Nepal with the highest user base. Ncell remains a key proponent of this network.
