nepal telecom fiber internet in banglachuli

Nepal Telecom (NTC) has begun providing high-speed fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) fiber internet service in Kamirechaur, Banglachuli Rural Municipality. Fiber broadband brings next-generation internet, IPTV, and voice service via a single fiber cable to the customers. The Communication Minister Rekha Sharma inaugurated the service Kartik 07, 2080.

Ntc’s popular FTTH fiber internet service became possible in Banglachuli after the installation of a 512-line capacity fiber distribution cabinet (FDC). It is said that customers in the area will now be able to get Ntc’s prized Triple Play (Voice, IPTV, Internet) service in their subscription.

As per Suresh Bhandari, Engineer of Nepal Telecom Wireless Service Directorate, Kathmandu, the fiber internet service in Banglachuli will expand in phases. He shared that first, it will be available in Banglachuli Rural Municipality Office, Kamirechaur Bazaar, and Shriwari village.

Ntc provides 25, 50, 100, and 150  Mbps speed packages under its NT Fiber service. Recently, the company launched 500  Mbps and 1 Gbps FTTH plans. However, this service is available to a selection of customers in a few areas.

While inaugurating the service, Communication Minister Rekha Sharma said that the government has given high priority to expanding Nepal Telecom’s services to all the rural municipalities.

Tulsiram Pun Magar, Chairman of Banglachuli Rural Municipality expressed his belief that the start of FTTH service in Banglachuli will greatly benefit the citizens of this area with modern and reliable communication services.

Nepal Telecom has over 2 lakh, 48 thousand fiber internet users. The company’s previous-generation ADSL service has around 44 thousand customers. In recent years, the company has fiercely migrated its network to fiber technology. The company has also requested the public to switch to fiber services for the benefits it brings. In comparison to ADSL, fiber internet brings exceptionally high-speed internet, reliability, consistency, and low latency.

An experienced tech writer covering news mostly on telecommunication, internet, latest tech & trends, and Gadgets. Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
