National telco, Nepal Telecom (NTC), has been honored as the highest value-added tax (VAT) paying company between 2076 to 2082. The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) conferred recognitions to various companies for their tax contribution to the country on the occasion of the National Tax Day 2082.
Besides NTC, the regulator Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) also received the honor as the highest taxpaying enterprise. A special event was held in Kathmandu to bestow recognition on the highest contributors.
The department honored Verisk Nepal Pvt. Ltd. as the highest income taxpayer in the information technology sector.
Likewise, Third Eye International received its recognition as the highest income tax among sole proprietorships. Dawar Nepal Pvt. Ltd. received the highest income tax among commodity export businesses, and Potash Breeder Farm Pvt. Ltd. received its recognition among the agriculture and livestock industries.
Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited (NIMB) bagged its honor among banking and insurance institutions, Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital among health and educational institutions, and Soaltee Hotel among tourism businesses. Bhatbhateni Super Market received its honor as the highest tax contributor among commodity trading institutions. At the same time, IME Limited has been honored among remittance and money transaction institutions.
