Nepal Telecom rapidly expands 4G in Karnali Province

Nepal Telecom (NTC) has launched 4G and 2G services in various regions in Karnali province. With its latest expansion effort, more areas benefit from advanced cellular services.

As of now, Ntc 4G has reached beyond 98% of local levels. Now, the company could seek blanket coverage all over Nepal in FY 2082/83.

Nepal Telecom 4G expansion in Karnali

Humla District

NTC has started 4G and 2G services in Sarkegad-3 and Sarkegad-6 of Humla district. It has benefitted people in wards No. 2, 3, 4, and 6 of Sarkegad Rural Municipality for the first time. Services have come into operation in Unapani, Syaltadi, Barai Gaun, Thulachaur, Sadhekat, Ripa, Sarkedeu, and other areas.

Similarly, the company has launched its 4G and 2G services in Adanchuli-6 of Humla, benefiting people of ward No. 2 of Sarkegad Rural Municipality, and Ward Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Adanchuli Rural Municipality have benefited. The areas with NT’s advanced 4G and 2G services in this region include Panchaur, Kalika, etc.

Dailekh district

In addition, Ntc brought its 4G service in Gurans, a tourist area of ​​Gurans Rural Municipality in Dailekh district. This has enabled fast mobile broadband and reliable voice for users in Gurans Bazar area, Rural Municipality Office area, Goganpani, Patikanla, and other villages under Gurans Rural Municipality Ward No. 3, 4, and 5, Bayalkanda, and other areas under Birendranagar Municipality Ward No. 14, and Lekgaun under Barahatal Ward No. 9. These areas saw 4G come into operation for the first time. 4G also enables customers to activate and use Ntc VoLTE for HD voice services.

Jajarkot district

Similarly, Nepal Telecom has introduced 4G and 2G services in Kotrang of Junichande Rural Municipality in Jajarkot district. This has enabled the customers in the surrounding areas of various wards of Junichande Rural Municipality under Ward No. 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 to access quality 4G services for the first time.

Dolpa district

In addition, various settlements in Thuli Bheri Municipality and She-Phoksundo Rural Municipality in Dolpa district have been connected to communication services. NT has built a 4G tower at Midagti Lake in Ward No. 10, which has connected Phoksundo Trail, Yarsa Patan, and half a dozen settlements that were deprived of communication facilities.

Additionally, the Shey-Phoksundo National Park office in Suligad, the military barracks area, and areas such as Chhepka, Bhokpa, and Sagbari, which are within the main settlements of the Phoksundo Trail, now receive NT’s communication services.

Ntc’s expansion of 4G and 2G in Karnali provinces has transformed connectivity for the people and visiting tourists in the region. As of now, NTc 4G has reached 749 out of 753 local levels. It’s worth noting that NT FTTH fiber internet is already available in 77 districts. The company provides fiber internet service under its NT Fiber branding.

The company says that its expansion of services aligns with the government’s policy to bring telecom services to rural and remote areas.
