Nepal Telecom (NTC) has completely replaced its wireline services with fiber technology in Far West (Sudurpaschim) Province. The transformation has become complete after the company’s provincial directorate, Attariya, converted its services to fiber in all the districts under its jurisdiction. The company says that now, customers under the directorate can get quality voice, data, and IPTV services via a single fiber cable.
During a program on 21 Magh 2082, Dravendra Kumar Chaudhary, Director of the Provincial Directorate Attariya, Far Western Province, announced that the entire Far Western Province has become a copper-free province by shutting down the Gaddachauki Exchange in Kanchanpur district. On the occasion, Director Chaudhary called it a milestone as NT continues to provide copper-free services across the country.
The complete fiber conversion in the Far West comes as fiber expansion takes further pace. It’s also worth knowing that NT FTTH is already available in 77 districts and only leaves some local levels out of FTTH penetration.
