Nepal Telecom (NTA) has made several arrangements to provide various relief and communication facilities targeting citizens directly affected by the flood that occurred on August 26 in the Bhote Koshi River of Rasuwa. The company has been providing services for the affected people of Rasuwa, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan, Nuwakot, and Tanahun districts, as well as those living along the Galchhi–Nuwakot–Rasuwa–Syabrubesi and Muglin–Narayangadh road sections under the Prithvi Highway.
The company says that it will provide and install NT fiber cables for free that were damaged by the flood. NT fiber, whose services have expired, will receive three months of extension for free as well.
Likewise, users with NT SIM cards will be reused that were affected during the flood. For this, customers must provide five recently contacted numbers; the last Location of the said number must be in the flood-affected area, and the KYC update for the respective number must be completed as soon as possible.
To maintain communication with individuals trapped in various locations due to the floods, 210 SIM cards have been provided in coordination with the Nepal Army. Arrangements have been made to update and record the details of these SIM cards, which include special packages provided to customers in the flood-affected areas.
Similarly, NTC has provided Dark Fiber–Physical Connectivity free of charge to establish a connection between the Main Server located in the IDMC of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) and the Backup Server at the Authority.
The company says that it will waive the monthly bill for three months for the toll-free number 18105000402 installed under the Centre for Mental Health and Counselling–Nepal (CMC-Nepal), which provides primary psychological support and counselling services to citizens in flood-affected areas.

The company has provided 100 Mbps internet service for one month for relief collection and management at the Nepal Police Disaster Rescue and Response Training Centre and Radhaswami Satsang Beas Nepal, Samakhushi Centre. The initiative is taken in coordination with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu.
High-speed free internet and technical support have also been provided for one year to the NDRRMA to ensure timely collection and dissemination of information, damage reports, relief and rescue details, field reports, photos, videos, and other data coming from the disaster-affected areas due to the Rasuwa flood.
NTC contributed about Rs 20 crore for Bhotekoshi flood victims under various categories, including employee contributions, for the relief, rescue, and rehabilitation of the flood-affected regions. Additionally, the company is actively continuing the reconstruction work of its sites that were damaged by the floods. The company has that it has incurred infrastructure damage worth tens of millions of rupees due to the floods.
