Ncell 4G now available in 1000 locations covering all provinces of the country

Ncell, the private telecom operator has expanded its 4G (LTE ) service to 1000 locations of the country. With that, Ncell has now 4G coverage in 1000 areas which covers all provinces. Ncell says they brought the latest technology to benefit its customers with the high-speed internet in those areas, by adding a more 4G tower.

High-speed internet service serve people better in terms of stable browsing and multimedia experience. Read more for what high-speed internet can do for us.

Ncell now claims to have the widest 4G coverage in the country. They already had 4G service in 21 cities of the country, which we suppose was already the largest coverage for 4G.

Ncell’s acting Managing Director Mr. Andy Chong says, ” We are glad to announce the expansion of 4G service to our customers to different areas of the country, even outside the city areas and will be expanding more for nationwide coverage”.

With the expansion, Ncell prepaid, postpaid and all customers having U-SIM and the 4G handset can use the 4G service for high-speed mobile broadband service there. Customers can also a lot of more better applications, transfer big files, watch a high-quality video with the 4G service.

Ncell started 4G service 2 years ago, on Jestha 18, 2074 (June 1, 2017).

Ncell first started 4G service in Nepal from Jestha 18, 2074 from Kathmandu, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel, and Banepa. Within Poush 2075, they brought the 4G to 21 cities. Now just after 2 years of first 4G launch, they expanded their 4G service to

  • Janakpur
  • Bharatpur
  • Bhairahwa
  • Butwal
  • Nepalgunj
  • Baglung
  • Tulsipur
  • Tamghas
  • Palpa
  • Krishna Nagar
  • Bardibas
  • Rajbiraj
  • Malangwa
  • Dhankuta

As they say 1000 locations, we assume Ncell has now 1000 different base stations with 4G service.

Ncell vs Ntc

Ncell has expanded its 4G service just by upgrading their current infrastructure and telecom equipment. Due to which, they could expand their services rapidly whereas for government-owned telco, despite being the first, their 4G service remains covered in Kathmandu and Pokhara only. Now, Nepal Telecom is also going to bring 4G in all parts of the country within a year period. Three months passed from the announcement of the 4G deal, they brought the major equipment to Nepal, and currently, they are under installation.

How to take Ncell U-SIM card?

If you do not have U-SIM card, Ncell customers need to go to nearest Ncell center and get a new SIM card supporting 4G service by paying Rs 1. Read more on How to activate 4G and put the phone in 4G mode.

The cost of U-SIM (4G supporting SIM) for the Ncell customer is Rs 1.

Ncell subscribers need to bring along citizenship certificate or driving license certificate for the same number SIM card. Customers will also get 1 GB free data with the 4G SIM card, which can be used for 7 days, from 5 am to 5 pm period.

No of districts with Ncell 4G coverage

Now, Ncell also says they have 4G coverage in 44 districts. This goes as per their commitment and plans to provide 4G coverage to more areas.
