State-backed telco Nepal Telecom has brought into operation 86 towers in various districts of Karnali province. Aiming to expand connectivity in remote regions, the telco has installed dozens of towers in Mugu, Kalikot, and Jumla. We have more below.

86 Nepal Telecom towers in three districts of Karnali
Nepal Telecom’s Jumla branch office chief, Paras Pujara, shared that the company has installed 19 towers in Mugu and 22 in Kalikot. In Jumla, so far, the company has on-aired 45 towers in Jumla, all these total 86 in Karnali province. He further added, “A Nepal Telecom tower has brought Ntc’s 4G live in Hima Rural Municipality of Jumla. The locals were deprived of telephone service due to the lack of construction of a telephone tower for a long time.”
Karnali is often considered one of the least developed regions in Nepal. It has been without reliable communications services for a long time. Thankfully, initiatives from NT and ISPs have brought modern services to the people. Ntc has expanded 4G in Karnali fiercely, while fiber service is now available in Khalanga, RSS reports.
At the moment, the company is working on bringing the company’s NT Fiber internet service across all eight local levels.
According to Nepal Telecom’s Karnali Provincial Directorate, Surkhet, communication services have been expanded to 37 local levels in Karnali so far.
