Nepal Telecom (NTC) has brought 4G network to Hima Rural Municipality, Jumla district. The launch of the mobile broadband service brings modern telco connectivity to the remote region for the first time. It has ended the locals’ need to search for cellular signals by reaching up the hills.
The state-run telco brought the service live after setting up a mobile tower in Kasturibhid, Hima Rural Municipality-5. The service started on Monday, December 29, 2025. 4G is a fast and reliable mobile service and brings to users broadband internet (data) and faster call connections. Also, it enables Ntc VoLTE for users to enjoy HD voice calls.
The network directly covers ward no 1 to 7 at the local level. Prior to this, the area didn’t have access to modern and reliable telecom services, and users had to walk for hours seeking mobile signals.
The launch of Ntc 4G in Hima Rural Municipality is certain to bring positive changes in the lives of the locals and promote the local digital economy. The local body’s chairperson, Laxmanbahadur Shahi, says that the network was brought to the remote area with cooperation between the local government and Nepal Telecom.

“With the tower coming into operation, phone and 4G internet services have become regular,” said Chairman Shahi. “Now there will be no more problems of calls not connecting and no need to trudge high in the hills in search of a network.”
According to Nepal Telecom Jumla Office Chief Paras Pujara, a five-member team led by Rajesh Giri, Assistant Technician at the Wireless Services Directorate in Babarmahal, Kathmandu, installed the equipment on site and resumed the service.

Ntc 4G in Nagma Bazar
Nepal Telecom has also brought its 4G service to Nagma Bazar in the 1800 MHz band. The area in the border region of Jumla and Kalikot now has direct access to the advanced fourth-generation cellular service.
The telecom stated the service by linking the tower in Hima-5 with the main tower located above Nagma. The broadband network delivers fast internet and reliable voice services for the locals, visitors, businesses, and government/private service sectors.
Being a national telco, Ntc continues to prioritize service upgrade and expansion in remote regions even with low financial potential. The company has been a key vehicle for the digital transformation of Nepal.
So far, Ntc 4G coverage has reached beyond 98%, and it seems the company will soon reach 100% expansion. The company is currently eying a sensational 5G launch in Kathmandu and Pokhara as well.
