inDrive announces ‘Fair Rides’, 0.01% service fee from drivers

inDrive Nepal

Nepal’s prominent ride-hailing platform inDrive is celebrating ‘Fair Rides’ in the country with a remarkably generous, just 0.01% service fee for drivers. The company is taking the initiative to reinforce its commitment to fair rides, freedom of choice, and driver empowerment in Nepal.

For its latest campaign, the platform will charge a near-zero, 0.01% of service fee for driver partners in Nepal. The initiative starts in February 2026.

inDrive provides a peer-to-peer approach to fares. This decentralizes the freedom to the drivers and customers to choose the fee for a ride-sharing service. The company says that this approach not only safeguards driver earnings but also maintains platform sustainability.

The 0.01% service fee means drivers can keep almost the entire amount of their ride earning with themselves. The company reiterates that this reinforces drivers’ “autonomy and decision-making power within the platform.” Besides paving the way for service fees, inDrive allows in-app calls, which further strengthen engagement between the drivers and passengers.

Giving back to the hardworking inDrive individuals

It further adds that the nominal service fee is its way of giving back to the hardworking individuals who keep the city functional daily. This generous approach will ease financial pressure and enable higher take-home income for inDrive drivers. It offers them a “meaningful opportunity to earn more during this period.”

inDrive 0.01% service fee Fair Rides

“At inDrive, we see ourselves as part of a larger community, and we believe strong communities are built on mutual support,” said Ms. Sunita Jeemi Rai, Senior Driver Operations Specialist, inDrive Nepal. “By offering a 0.01% service fee, we want to ensure that our driver partners can earn more while passengers continue to enjoy safe, fair, and affordable rides. This initiative reaffirms our commitment to freedom of choice, fair pricing, and safety for everyone.”

More benefits beyond 0.01% service free for inDrive drivers

The ‘Fair Rides’ campaign is more than just the minimal 0.01% commission from the drivers. It is also a learning initiative for inDrive to understand the impact of near-zero fees on driver engagement, service quality, and sustainability.

Nepal has many top ride-sharing platforms, and each is competing for prominence. So, financial leverage to the drivers like this distinguishes inDrive from the rest.

In its statement, the company says that it remains committed to responsible growth, regulatory compliance, fair competition, and contribution to Nepal’s digital and gig-economy landscape.

After a few years of operation, inDrive began official operation in Nepal on May 6, 2024. The platform boasts over 1 million users in Nepal and has become a household name in the ride-sharing landscape. The ‘Fair Rides’ campaign reflects its latest attempt to stand out with meaningful strategies to stay relevant and prominent in the growing industry.
