Nepal Telecom (NTC) has provided institutional support of Rs. 100 million (Rs. 10 crore) to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund for the relief, rescue, and rehabilitation of citizens affected by the devastating flood that occurred in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Bhadra 10, 2083.
At a special program organized today, Bhadra 24, 2083, Managing Director Sangita Pahadi (Aryal) handed over the cheque to the Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle in the presence of the Communications Minister Dr. Bikram Timilsina and the Secretary and Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors Rajendra Kumar Poudel.
The program also had the presence of the company’s Chief Operating Officer Prem Prasad Silwal, Chief Financial Officer Dwarika Prasad Poudel, and Chief Business Officer Gopal Singh KC.
Prior to this, NTC employees over Rs 2 crore (Rs 20.2266 million) for the Bhotekoshi flood victim’s rescue and rehabilitation efforts. A cheque of this amount was handed over to the finance minister, Mr. Wagle. The latest is the institutional contribution by the company.
Besides financial support, the company has provided Rasuwa flood victims with free voice calls, data, and SMS worth Rs 60 million (Rs 6 crore). The company announced and implemented free resource services right after the floods to ensure connectivity during and after the disasters.
