Ncell paid Rs 17.24 billion in various taxes and fees to the government in fiscal year 2082/83. The company has shared the details in a new statement.
When it comes to national contributions, the private sector telco Ncell is always there. Since its inception, the company has consistently remained among the major taxpayers in Nepal’s ICT industry. The company paid a total of Rs 17,24,46,23,881 to the government during FY 2082/83 in various fees.
Ncell posted Rs 17.24 billion in taxes in FY 2082/83
Ncell says that a large portion of its payment came from telecommunications-related fees. Ncell paid Rs 3.29 billion as its license installment fee to NTA. It also paid Rs 270,000 for the renewal of its Internet Service Provider (ISP) license and Rs. 1.01 billion in customs duties.
Additionally, Ncell paid a total of Rs 1.29 billion in royalty and Rs 1.96 billion in frequency fees. Similarly, the company paid Rs 2.63 billion in value-added tax (VAT) collected on sales and Rs 988.5 million in tax deducted at source (TDS).
Ncell also contributed Rs. 649.6 million to the Rural Telecommunications Development Fund (RTDF). NTA uses RTDF for various connectivity projects, particularly in areas where access remains limited. It helps reduce the digital divide between urban and rural communities.

Ncell among Nepal’s major taxpayers
Ncell remained among Nepal’s largest taxpayers. In Baisakh 2082, the Government of Nepal recognized Ncell as the highest income-tax-paying taxpayer in the country’s ICT sector based on its tax contribution.
The company said that its total payments to the government since its establishment have reached nearly Rs 375 billion through various taxes, fees, and other government charges. In Ncell’s 21 years in Nepal, Ncell has invested over Rs 130 billion in capital expenditure.
Ncell contributes to government revenue through taxes, license and spectrum fees, royalties, customs duties, and other payments associated with its operations.

Besides taxes and fees, Ncell has also been carrying out social initiatives through the Ncell Foundation.
