Display & Design
Having a glass front, aluminum frame & back, the iPad Mini 6 (2021) features an 8.3″ QHD Liquid Retina LCD panel with standard 60Hz refresh rates. The fully laminated display’s resolution is 1488 × 2266 pixels offering 327 PPI. Also, the peak brightness is 500nits on this new mini iPad. Meanwhile, the display protection is not specified. Oleophobic coating for scratch resistance is given. Just as the iPad Pro, this one also has Tru Tone technology & the P3 color gamut. Also, ultra-low reflectivity is present.

This new iPad showcases a new, larger edge-to-edge screen with narrow borders & rounded corners. There is also magnetic attachment support for Apple Pencil 5 on the side for go-to usage. Touch ID fingerprint sensor has shifted to the top reinstating the previous home button on older editions. This new iPad mini comes in four different colors; Purple, Pink, Space Gray, and Starlight.
Performance
The performance on this tablet is top-notch, thanks to the super-powerful A-15 Bionic chipset from Apple. A-15 Bionic caters immense processing power for day-to-day usage, editing, rendering & so on. Also used in the iPhone 13 lineup, this silicon caters a 40% CPU performance boost & an 80% boost on GPU performance over A-12 Bionic on the last iPad mini. The combo of Hexa-core (2×2.93 GHz + 4xX.X GHz) CPU &Apple GPU (5-core) with 4GB of RAM makes it a powerhouse tablet.
There is support for 5G. One can get Wifi only model or a Wifi + Cellular model for utilizing the blazing 5G speed capability of this tab. iPad OS 15 is handling the software for this new iPad.
Camera
The new iPad mini houses a 12MP camera with an f/1.9 aperture. This single-camera is capable of shooting 4K videos at 24/25/30/60fps & 1080p videos at 25/30/60fps with EIS stabilization. For slow motion, it can shoot 120/240fps with full HD resolution. For darker scenarios, it has the quad-LED dual-tone flash.
The selfie camera is also 12MP but an ultrawide one with 122° FOV. Meanwhile, for videos, it can shoot 1080p@25/30/60fps with gyro-EIS stabilization. The front shooter also has the Center Stage feature of iPad Pro 2021. In simple language, it can track the movement of the subject to shift the frame accordingly during video calls.
