It’s just been the M55 5G’s inception in the Nepalese market. And we have another M-Series phone from Samsung entering the field with the Galaxy M35 5G moniker. This phone bears similar specifications to the Galaxy A35, featuring the Exynos 1380 chip. Design and Display

The design of the Galaxy M35 5G is not completely new. If you compare, this phone brings an identical rear panel to the Galaxy M15 5G. You don’t get a key island here which was seen with the Galaxy A35 and A55.  So, the power keys are integrated directly into its flat frame. Meanwhile, the protruding camera lens, a typical Samsung signature remains intact here.

Talking further of the design, it bears thicker bezels and chin but, the display here is thankfully a punch-hole display, an improvement from its predecessor with an outdated U-shaped notch. Likesiws, the screen is a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED panel. This FHD+ display boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits of peak brightness. As it’s Samsung-made, the visual quality will be top-notch with vibrant color and good contrast.

Performance

Lying on the core is Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1380 SoC on the Samsung Galaxy M35 5G. This 5G-ready chip is fabricated on a 5nm process and features 4 cores Cortex-A78 at 2400 MHz and 4 cores Cortex-A55 at 2000 MHz. Likewise, the graphics are handled by Mali-G68 MP5 GPU.

It is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Moreover, the phone boots on Android 14 out of the box with the OneUI 6.1 skin. Samsung promises 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security patches for the Galaxy M35, which is great.

Exploring the optics, the Samsung Galaxy M35 5G sports a triple camera setup. As such, there is a 50MP main camera with OIS, followed by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro module. On the hole-punch cutout, there is a 13MP front-facing camera. Video recording capabilities include 4K at 30fps and 720p at 240fps.

Battery and Connectivity

Fueling the smartphone is a sizable and robust 6000mAh battery, an upgrade from the 5000mAh battery in the Galaxy A35 5G. It is juiced by 25W fast charging and Samsung is providing a compatible 25W brick for free as well. In terms of audio, it boasts dual stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support. But sadly, the headphone jack is not present. Connectivity options include 5G, VoLTE, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB-Type-C port.

Our Verdict

The latest launch of the Samsung Galaxy M35 5G sits at a good spot in the midrange segment. The A35 5G with similar specs and a better build does seem more enticing but, if you cannot stretch your budget to 47,000 rupees, the M35 5G is also a decent offering with a bigger battery.
