Nepal Telecom (Ntc) has launched its 4G mobile network in Dhyargaun in Jajarkot district. The state-backed company started the service in the remote area on Falgun 05, 2081 bringing high-speed mobile broadband service for its customers.
The company started the fourth-generation mobile service in Nalgad Municipality 10, Dhyrgaun, Jajarkot district. But Ntc hasn’t only started 4G service alone. The company launched both 4G and 2G service.
4G network brings users high-speed mobile broadband service for the locals and visitors. At the same time, the 2G network will be useful for reliable voice service. Although 4G is a new and modern service, 2G is an old legacy network. However, it continues to remain important in rural and remote areas for voice services.
It’s also possible to use Ntc VoLTE on a 4G network. But lack of compatible devices and other technical issues may deprive users of its benefits. So, 2G ensures that everyone has the coverage for voice service.

Ntc 4G in Dhyargaun, Jajarkot
With Nepal Telecom expanding 4G in Dhyargaun, people are now able to connect to high-speed network and browse the internet. Likewise, they also have access to 2G network which is useful for reliable voice. But let’s keep a note that Ntc has announced to phase out 2G in 1800 MHz band soon to re-farm resources for 4G.
The company’s 4G service now covers ward no. 9, 10, 11 and Rawatgaun, Dhyargaun, Baniyagaun, Damka, Rajika, and nearby areas. It’s the first time that the locals in these areas are able to connect to modern communication services.
The latest Ntc 4G expansion in Dhyargaun is in line with the company’s objective of 4G expansion across Nepal. So far, Ntc has started 4G over 98% local levels and could reach full coverage in FY 2080/81. It seeks to use 4G infrastructure for its 5G network. So, the 4G expansion works are also important for the company.
