Nepal Telecom (NTC)’s eSIM is now available for purchase on the Khalti wallet app. IME Khalti Limited and NTC have reached an agreement that has brought a highly convenient way to buy the telco’s virtual SIM on the mobile app. The facility means that you won’t need to visit Ntc offices and fill out physical forms to get a new eSIM. It’s all possible now on your smartphone on the go. We have more details down below.
Buying eSIM got easier thanks to Khalti
By bringing Ntc eSIM on the Khalti app for purchase, the digital wallet company has brought a truly magnificent digital way of buying a digital SIM. As you know, with the number of flagship phone buyers growing in Nepal, more users are eager to get an eSIM. That is to say, there are more eSIM users now, well over 4 lakhs as of Shrawan 2082.
But a need to visit the company’s office, filling out papers, might make it inconvenient for many, especially people like me who are mostly on a traditional 9-5 day job. Thanks to Khalti, buying a virtual or embedded SIM has now gone digital.

And I believe it’s sort of remarkable. The details are entered and uploaded right on the Khalti app. The fee (Rs 90) is deducted from the Khalti account. So, steps are remarkably user-friendly and easy too. The only thing to keep in mind is that you need to take clear photos of your documents to upload. Find the steps below.

Let’s welcome the facility
Well, Khalti has started the practice. We now wish and also expect to see Ncell eSIM on the app for purchase as well. Many in Nepal use a primary and secondary SIM using both telcos’ networks. So, it will be super comfortable for mobile users if it also brings Ncell’s eSIM purchasing service to its app. Anyway, everyone should be happy that the service has started.
NOTE: Using an eSIM is essentially the same as having a physical SIM card. But with an eSIM inside the phone, you no longer need to worry about its wear and tear and ejecting and re-inserting it. You only need to scan its QR and install its profile (with your number in it) to use the telco’s services.
We hope the post has been helpful with the steps to buy Ntc eSIM on Khalti. If you have any further queries, let us know them in the comments below.
