Nepal’s government-backed telecom company Nepal Telecom (NTC) has announced to allocate a cash dividend of 30% for FY 2081/82. The company has proposed a cash dividend of Rs 30 per share after it’s 1089th board of directors meeting on Wednesday, Poush 08, 2082. The company has also called for its annual general meeting (AGM) for Poush 30 at Rastriya Sabha Griha, Pradarshani Marg, Kathmandu, starting at 11:00 AM.
The upcoming general meeting will approve the financial statements of FY 2081/82, appoint an auditor for the current fiscal year, and determine their remuneration.
The company has stated that it will close the financial books between Poush 20 and 30 for the general meeting and dividend distribution.
The company is paying dividends to it’s shareholders on its paid-up capital of Rs. 18 billion.
Likewise, the company is also planning to increase the public share in Ntc to 30%. The current finance minister, Rameshwar Khanal, is continuing with this plan and will make a tangible decision soon.
The company is marking its 22nd anniversary on Magh 22, 2082, where it is expected to make a major decision regarding the public rollout of 5G network. We could first see 5G in Kathmandu and Pokhara as the company has shared the initial plans for the next-gen technology.
