Gionee, a Chinese smartphone brand has made its comeback in Nepal with a new Gionee M12 smartphone. The brand launched its new product after the launch of Gionee M100 almost a year ago in the Nepalese tech Market. Gionee M12 is a lower mid-range smartphone that features some impressive specs. So, without further ado let’s know more in detail about the specs, availability, and Gionee M12 price in Nepal below.
The design of the Gionee M12 is pretty nice for a phone in this segment. It has a Glass front, plastic frame, and plastic back. The device comes in a 3D curved body. At the front, it has a punch hole that houses the selfie camera. The smartphone has 163.9 x 76.8 x 9.3 mm dimensions and weighs only 196 gm.
Gionee M12 sports a 6.55 inches IPS LCD panel along with an HD+ screen resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels. It also comes with an aspect ratio of 20:9, a screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent, and a 268 PPI density. The device has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well.
As for the optics of the device, Gionee M12 flaunts a quad-camera setup at the rear with a rectangular camera bump. It consists of a 48 MP Samsung GD1 lens with f/1.79 aperture, a 5 MP f/2.2 aperture ultra-wide-angle sensor along a 115˚ field of view (FOV), a 2 MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and LED flash.
On the front, the smartphone houses a 16 MP Selfie camera that snaps beautiful pictures. Now moving on to the videography aspect of the smartphone, both the rear camera and front camera records videos up to [email protected]
Powering the Gionee M12 is a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset that also runs Nokia 2.4. It also has a MediaTek Helio A25 option but it is not available in Nepal. It is attached with 6GB of RAM and internal storage of 128GB. You will also be able to expand your storage via a dedicated microSD card slot.
On the software front, the Gionee M12 runs on Android 10 with Realme UI. But it is definitely disappointing to see this chipset for a phone in this price range.
Moving our attention to the battery prowess of the phone, Gionee M12 boasts a massive non-removable Li-Po 5,100mAh battery that also supports 10W charging. It has a USB Type-C port to charge the phone. You don’t have to worry about the draining of the battery in your phone.
Coming to the connectivity options of the phone, Gionee M12 features 4G dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, GPS, USB Type-C 2.0 port, a rear-facing fingerprint reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Gionee M12 boasts an impressive HD+display, massive battery prowess, 48 MP quad-camera setup, and more. But the phone disappoints in the performance department as it comes with the Helio P22 chipset instead of a more powerful processor at this price range. The phone also lacks a fast charging feature. Gionee M12 is an overpriced smartphone with average specs for a mid-range smartphone. So, you might have to reconsider buying the phone as other smartphones in this price segment offers much more impressive specs and features.
