The most popular multi-purpose application/platform in Nepal, Hamro Patro is currently testing the calling feature in its mobile app. Hamro Patro, originally a Calendar app has integrated several features like news, horoscope, keyboard, Radio, Dictionary, and much more. Now, Hamro Patro is making its way to accommodate the calling feature in the app.
The founder of Hamro Patro Mr. Shankar Upreti shared a status writing ” Something new coming soon in Hamro Patro – super excited”. The status also includes a photo of the upcoming calling feature in the mobile app. With the photo, we can easily tell it is an instant messaging service with a call and video call service.
As known, Hamro Patro is currently beta testing the calling feature with its employees. So, we can expect the call feature to land in the Hamro Patro app within Tihar.
When the call feature launches, it will be first on the Android application. While it will take some more time for the feature to arrive on iOS. So, within a month’s time, all of the people to be able to use the call through the Hamro Patro app. Of course, it will be free for calling from one user to other users within the app, with the instant messaging too.
This should be the first wide availability of such a free app calling feature in Nepal from a local application. Earlier, Nepal Telecom had launched the NT Pro app but it was limited to its postpaid users. The app also had a feature to make calls to any NT number at affordable cost (which was useful for people abroad). But this app is not available as of now.
Tell us how do you see the calling feature of Hamro Patro. Will it be of any use when you have a crowded space for such calling OTT apps like Viber, Messenger, Skype, etc.
