Nothing Phone (4a) Overview

Design and Display

Nothing Phone (4a) has a signature Nothing Phone design sporting a semi-transparent design. The new Glyph Bar with 63 mini-LEDs in seven squares, adorns the back near the camera module, which feeds notifications for incoming calls, charging, camera timers, etc. But unlike the Phone (4a) Pro, the frames are plastic with the back retaining glass, as with the Phone (3a).

The display stretches 6.78 inches with an AMOLED panel, 120Hz, and up to 4500 nits of peak brightness. The screen has a layer of Gorilla Glass 7i for enhanced protection. The stunning level of brightness, though falling short of the Phone (4a) Pro by 500 nits, should be one of the key selling points of the phone, of course, along with its futuristic design.

Performance and Memory

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, which rocks a clock frequency of up to 2.7 GHz. The storage starts at 128 GB with the option of 256 GB, while there are 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM available too. The phone boots on Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16.

Camera

However, the telephoto unit boasts a strong 3.5X optical zoom capacity and OIS support. Likewise, the front-facing camera is a 32 MP unit with exceptional quality for photos and video-recording from the front. The phone also comes with various AI features for photography, which further enhance the fun and high-quality photo-editing and finishing on the phone.

Battery, Connectivity, and Other Features

The Nothing Phone (4a) is powered by a 5080mAh battery with 50W wired fast-charging. The company claims that it can be charged up to 50% in 22 minutes and 100% in 64 minutes. In terms of connectivity, it supports WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, sensors, and comes with NFC and a USB Type-C 2.0 port.
