Nepal Network Operators Group (NPNOG) is organizing a five-day workshop called NPNOG8 in Kathmandu from Ashar 3 to 8 in Kathmandu. The six-day running event will take place at Royal Singhi Hotel, and Aloft Hotel.

The event titled npNOG-8 will consist of a 5-day workshop and a conference. The event focuses on networking, fiber optics, and IPv6, etc.

The training will be conducted in two thematic areas by business experts who are professionals in networking, fiber optics, and other technologies.

Internet Exchange Nepal (NPIX) and Nepal Network Operators Group (NP NOG) will conduct the workshop jointly. The workshop includes discussions on three main topics- network security, optical fiber network and infrastructure, and BGP and IPv6 deployment.

Network Security workshop sheds light on how to protect end-users, applications, and infrastructures. This workshop aims to examine core concepts, protocols, policies, and practices to protect data from possible attacks. It is basically focused on managers, operators, engineers, and policymakers who are interested in network security. Likewise, the Fiber and Infrastructure include workshops on fiber optic concepts, fiber connectors, distribution networks, etc.

The BGP and IPv6 deployment workshop focuses on the fundamentals of internet routing, BGP fundamentals, and day-to-day network operations. It will help participants understand IPv6 and how to deploy it in a network. It is targeted at technical staff who are involved in internet technology standards, local and national network infrastructure planning, deployment, etc.
