Also known as Nepal Doorsanchar Company Ltd., NTC is Nepal’s state-backed telecom giant. With over 92% government shares, the company is headed under the supervision of the Nepal government, but with independent operation within the company. NTC provides various services. It provides 4G, FTTH internet under the brand name NT Fiber, IPTV (NT TV), and other digital services. Most commonly, though, the company is popular for its GSM mobile (prepaid & postpaid) and fiber internet services.
Ntc FTTH is available in 77 districts furthering its national reach. The service is popular because it combines fiber internet, data, telephone, and NT TV.
NTC customer base
Nepal Telecom has 1 crore, 58 lakh, 23 thousand, 883 customer base as of Ashoj 2082. The figure comes via the regulator Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA). According to the authority, there are 1 crore, 54 lakh, 9 thousand, 857 users in NTC’s GSM mobile. Likewise, the company’s FTTH voice has 3 lakh, 81 thousand, 242, and PSTN has 32 thousand, 784 users. Ntc has 53.2% of the market share in cellular voice service.
Similarly, Ntc has 1 crore, 50 lakh, 15 thousand, 541 customers in mobile broadband (4G and 3G). Of the total, about 1.43 crore are on 4G, while over 7.23 lakh are connected to 3G services. With the advent of 4G, 3G users continue to shrink. Further, there are 3 lakh, 33 thousand, 918 FTTH users, while fixed broadband (WiFi) has 26 thousand, 481 users. According to the NTA report, Ntc boasts a strong 56.03% market share in the mobile broadband sector.
