Redmi Note 14 series specifications
Design and Display
The new Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus and Pro models have curvy sides. Both phones’ camera islands are very appealing with the Pro Plus featuring a squircle camera island that houses a triple-camera setup while the Pro carries a more pronounced module. The Pro Plus is bulkier than Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus at 210.8 grams and so has the Pro variant at 190 grams. The base model Redmi Note 14 carries a similar feel and design measures 162.40 x 75.70 x 7.99 mm and weighs 190 grams like the middle Pro model.
Both Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus and Redmi Note 14 Pro feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with 1220 x 2712 pixels resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and 3,000 nits of peak brightness. Both get a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for front glass protection and while the Pro Plus gets another Gorilla Glass 7i protection for the back, there’s none on the Pro. The Pro models are IP68/IP69K certified, meaning they are dust and water and heat-resistant.
The standard iteration also gets a same-size 6.7-inch OLED display and 120 Hz refresh rate but its peak brightness stands at 2100 nits short of the Pro models. For water and dust protection, it’s IP64 certified. The good thing is that Xiaomi is providing lots of value to customers with somewhat similar specs in the display and other areas while adding a few key selling points for senior siblings. All three phones come with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Performance
Xiaomi has used a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset for the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus model, unlike the Dimensity chipset in the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus. It’s a new and powerful octa-core processor built using a 4nm process so the device shall perform smoothly even if put to its extreme. Xiaomi offers the device with 12 GB and 16 GB of RAM while the internal storage options are 256 GB and 512 GB only.
Likewise, the Redmi Note 14 Pro uses a new MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset, also a 4nm chipset with eight cores. The device’s RAM options are 8 GB and 12 GB while storage starts at 128 GB with 256 GB and 512 GB being other alternatives. To compare, the Redmi Note 13 Pro featured Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
Likewise, the Redmi Note 14 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra which is built in 6nm fabrication. The phone is available with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB internal storage options. All three models run on Xiaomi’s HyperOS software based on Android 14.
Camera
In a major change of events, the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus carries a 50 MP wide camera with f/1.6 aperture and OIS support. The aperture has a wider lens opening and brings in more light for clearer images even in dark settings. This time, Xiaomi has also included a 50 MP telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom and accompanied by an 8 MP ultrawide unit in a triple-camera setup.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro, on the other hand, has a 50 MP camera with OIS, an 8 MP ultrawide and 2 MP macro cameras. The front has a 20 MP selfie shooter. With both phones’ back cameras, you can record 4k videos at 24/30 fps while the front provides recording at 1080p videos at 30/60fps.
The standard model, on the other hand, has a dual-camera setup with a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. For selfie photos and videos, there’s a 16 MP front camera with a hole-punch cutout. The Redmi Note 13 4G came with a triple-camera setup.
Battery and Connectivity
The Pro Plus model sports a beefy 6200mAh silicon-carbon battery with 80W wired fast-charging support. Here, Xiaomi is presenting a balanced act in comparison to the previous lineup’s 5,000mAh battery and 120W fast charging. According to the company, the battery can maintain its health for at least 4 years.
Likewise, the Redmi Note 14 Pro has a 5,500mAh typical Li-Po cell onboard and packs a 45W fast charging capability. Although it’s not a silicon-carbon battery, the large capacity does make a good compensation. The junior sibling comes with a 5100mAh battery and 45W fast-charging support.
Both Pro phones support up to WiFi 6 for wireless communication and are 5G compatible. Each gets NFC, GPS, and other standard Android features as well. The base model connects to 5G, WiFi 5, Bluetooth v5.3, and features other standard sensors and location features.

About the global variants
The Chinese launch of the Reldmi Note 14 Series has already sparked speculations about its global launch and specification variations. You may have noticed that Xiaomi opted for all 5G phones for its RN14 Series. However, given that the network is not available everywhere, the Chinese OEM is likely to introduce a 4G phone. This could apply to the Redmi Note 14 and the Redmi Note 14 Pro models.
There are rumors that the Pro Plus phone could get a 200 MP camera for the global variant. Various outlets state that the top-end model could also skip the 50 MP telephoto lens for international markets. This could be down to the customers’ choice in the regional markets where larger MP are more preferable. Having more MPs also delivers more detailed photos useful for editing later. But for now, we can only wait on updates from Xiaomi for it. The global variants could launch late in 2024.
We expect the Redmi Note 14 Series to arrive at a similar price range in Nepal from the RN13 Series.
