Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is the latest TWS earbuds from the brand. It is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus from last year. The earbuds arrive with features similar to the Galaxy Buds Pro.
Starting off with the design of the device, Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 has a dual-tone color scheme where the accent color is on the earbuds and inside the case. It has a rounded design that has a low protrusion. Samsung claims them to be the lightest and smallest in the Galaxy Buds lineup. One might also mistake it for the Galaxy Buds Pro’s case. The earbuds weigh only 5 grams each, and the case weighs only 41.2 grams together. It also has IPX2 water resistance. Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 have four different color variants – Olive, Graphite, White, and Lavender.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 boasts 11mm drivers. It comes with the same dual-driver setup as its predecessor, an 11mm woofer and a 6.3mm tweeter, both tuned by AKG. The earbuds also come with support for audio codecs like SBC, AAC, and the proprietary Samsung Scalable Codec (SSC).
Samsung also offers ANC (active noise cancellation) on the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, with two microphones capable of blocking out ambient noise. You have 3 microphones on each earbud for noise cancellation and crisp audio calling. The brand claims that the ANC mode cuts background noise by up to 98% and the Ambient Mode has three levels.
The earbuds get their juices from a 61mAh battery inside each earbud. It provides up to 7.5 hours of battery life with ANC off and up to 5 hours of playback time with ANC on. As for the case, which has a battery capacity of 472mAh takes the battery life of up to 20 hours with ANC on and up to 29 hours with ANC off. It also supports wired fast charging. Just a 5 minutes charge will be enough to provide 1 hour of playback time. It supports charging via the USB Type-C port and Qi wireless charging.
Talking about the connectivity feature, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 arrives with the latest Bluetooth 5.2. It also comes with the support for SBC, AAC, and Samsung Scalable codec. With the help of a companion app, one can choose between Normal, Soft, Bass Boost, Clear, Dynamic, or Treble boost equalizer settings. Other features of the earbuds are automatic Switch between compatible Galaxy devices, wear detection, customizable touch controls, Galaxy Buds PC app support, etc. For controls, if you single tap music will play/pause, double-tap for the next song, and triple tap for the previous song.
